About us
Kaldera Architects is led by architect and Certified Passive House Designer Katharine Turner.
Katharine is a creative and strategic thinker with a specific interest in residential architecture, and the intersection of architecture and urban design.
Over the past decade Katharine has led some of Sydney’s most notable place-making projects, shaping her skill in finding the broader opportunities in a site or brief. With a career spanning Australia and the UK, she has expertise across multiple sectors including residential, commercial, transport, education, and culture. She has a passion for creating a rich and vibrant built environment, and believes that regenerative design and liveable neighbourhoods are essential to a sustainable future.
As a residential architect Katharine has designed some of Australia’s most luxurious homes, as well as being an avid proponent for improving the liveability of Australian housing through good design and sustainable design principles.
Prior to founding Kaldera Architects Katharine was global residential sector lead at Hassell, and has led award winning projects at Tzannes, and Crone.
